Who Should Apply? Key Requirements

To be considered for this vital position, you must meet the following requirements:

  • Possess an appropriate Trade Test Certificate.
  • Have at least 5 years of post-qualification experience as an Artisan.
  • Hold a valid driver’s license.

Essential Skills and Knowledge:

  • Excellent communication skills in English (both written and verbal).
  • Strong problem-solving, decision-making, planning, and organising abilities.
  • Proficiency in technical analysis and report writing.
  • Knowledge of legal compliance, conflict management, and computer-aided technical applications.

Your Key Responsibilities:

As a Survival Equipment Technician, your duties will be diverse and crucial to naval operations:

  • Inspect, service, repair, test, and install specific certified inflatable life rafts and associated emergency equipment.
  • Perform inspections, servicing, and repairs on life jackets.
  • Manufacture related items from fabric, canvas, leather, plastic, and rubber.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure strict adherence to all safety policies and procedures.
  • Conduct pre-delivery checks to guarantee all lifesaving equipment is serviceable before it reaches the end user.
