Remuneration
The successful candidate will be rewarded with a competitive salary package, graded under the Occupation Specific Dispensation (OSD), ranging from R586,956 to R1,386,972 per annum.

Key Requirements
To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- An LLB Degree.
- Admitted to practice as an Attorney or Advocate in the High Court of South Africa.
- A minimum of eight (8) years of appropriate post-qualification legal experience.
- Extensive knowledge of key legislation including:
- Public Finance Management Act (PFMA) & Treasury Regulations
- Public Service Act & Regulations
- Promotion of Administrative Justice Act (PAJA) & Access to Information Act (PAIA)
- Labour Relations Act (LRA), Basic Conditions of Employment Act (BCEA), and Employment Equity Act (EEA)
- Constitutional Law and The Constitution of the Republic of South Africa
- Criminal Procedure Act and Law of Evidence
- Critical skills required: Planning and Organizing, Communication, Report Writing, Negotiation, Analytical Thinking, Financial Management, Project Management, and Computer Literacy.
Key Responsibilities
The appointed candidate will be entrusted with the following duties:
- Provide comprehensive legal advisory services to the Department.
- Manage and oversee all litigation involving the Department.
- Administer access to information requests in accordance with PAIA.
- Vet and review legislation, contracts, and departmental policies.
- Manage the human and financial resources of the Chief Directorate effectively.
