About the Role
This senior position sits at the intersection of engineering and logistics, focusing on ensuring the operational readiness and sustainability of naval systems. You will be responsible for developing and verifying the logistical support plans that are vital to the South African Navy’s fleet operations.
Key Requirements
To be considered for this prestigious role, you must meet the following criteria:
- Qualifications: A National Diploma in Engineering or a relevant qualification.
- Experience: A minimum of 6 years of post-qualification technical experience.
- Registration: Current compulsory registration with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) as a Professional Engineering Technician.
- Driver’s License: A valid driver’s license is essential.
- Special Skills: Proven experience in a design environment, Logistic Support Analysis (LSA), or Logistic Plans development is crucial.
Additional advantageous experience includes:
- Logistic Plans development and logistic support design.
- Knowledge of logistic elements contained in Support Baselines.
- Strong systems engineering knowledge, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in interpreting technical drawings and documents.
- Demonstrated skill in MS Office and computer-aided engineering applications.
- Excellent project management, report writing, and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
Your duties will be diverse and critical to the Navy’s mission:
- Participate in Logistic Support Analysis (LSA) activities.
- Develop and contribute to comprehensive Logistic Plans.
- Participate in the design, specification, and verification of logistic support systems.
- Supervise the development of logistic support baselines for SAN systems.
- Provide supervision and guidance to Logistic Engineering personnel.
