About the Role
The Department of Labour is seeking a dedicated and experienced professional to join their team as a Senior Employee Health and Wellness Practitioner. This critical role is based at the Head Office in Pretoria and focuses on promoting the well-being and productivity of departmental employees through comprehensive health and wellness programs.
Requirements
To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Qualifications: A three-year National Diploma (NQF6) or an Undergraduate Bachelor’s Degree (NQF7) in Social Work, Psychology, or Occupational Health and Safety.
- Registration: Must be registered with the South African Council for Social Services Professions (SACSSP) or the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA).
- License: A valid driver’s license is essential.
- Experience: Four (4) years of relevant experience, of which two (2) years must be at a Supervisory level (e.g., Senior Admin Officer/Practitioner) and two (2) years in functional Employee Health and Wellness.
- Knowledge: A strong understanding of Departmental policies, Human Resource Management, HR systems, Code of Ethics, Batho Pele Principles, the Employee Health and Wellness Strategic Framework, and relevant HIV and Aids legislations.
- Skills: Excellent communication, counselling, negotiation, decision-making, organisational, and report-writing skills. Must be computer literate and a strong team player.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Facilitating the implementation of comprehensive Employee Health and Wellness programmes and services.
- Coordinating and facilitating departmental HIV/AIDS and TB programmes.
- Implementing Health and Productivity programmes to enhance employee well-being.
- Coordinating various wellness initiatives within the department.
- Facilitating the implementation of the Employee Health and Wellness strategic framework.
