About the Role
The Provincial Office in Parktown is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Admin Officer to join its Inspection and Enforcement Services (IES) sub-section. This is a supervisory role ideal for a meticulous and organised professional with a background in public administration and a strong understanding of labour legislation.
Requirements
To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Qualifications: A three-year National Diploma (NQF6) or an Undergraduate Bachelor Degree (NQF7) in Office Management, Public Management, Public Administration, Business Management, or Business Administration.
- Experience: Four (4) years of relevant experience, of which two (2) years must be at a Supervisory level (e.g., Senior Admin Officer/Practitioner) and two (2) years must be functional experience in Inspection/Administration Services.
- Knowledge: A thorough understanding of Departmental policies and procedures, the Skills Development Act, LRA, BCEA, Public Service Regulations, SDLA, OHS Act, COIDA, UIA, UI Contributions Act, and the Employment Equity Act.
- Skills: Excellent facilitation, planning, organising, and communication (verbal and written) skills. Must be computer literate, innovative, analytical, and possess strong problem-solving and interpersonal abilities.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Performing all administration pertaining to inspections and enforcement services.
- Conducting verification audits at Labour Centres to ensure tools of trade are available and improve IES systems.
- Collecting, compiling, and consolidating IES statistical reports for submission.
- Coordinating and monitoring IES projects.
- Compiling reports on complex cases for the attention of the Chief Director.
- Attending to DG and Ministerial enquiries.
- Managing the resources within the sub-section.
