About the Municipal Finance Management Internship Programme (MFMIP)
The MFMIP is a prestigious programme governed by the Municipal Finance Management Act (Act 56 of 2003). It is specifically designed to provide graduates with high-quality, structured professional training and practical experience across all facets of a municipal Budget and Treasury Office. This programme builds directly on the theoretical knowledge you acquired at university, transforming it into real-world competency.
Upon successful completion, you will receive a qualification in Municipal Finance Management, aligning with the Municipal Regulations on Minimum Competency Levels, making you a highly competitive candidate in the job market.
Who Should Apply? Programme Requirements
To be eligible for this transformative opportunity, you must meet the following criteria:
- Hold a three-year Bachelor’s Degree (NQF Level 7) or a National Diploma (NQF Level 6) with majors in one of the following fields:
- Accounting
- Economics
- Financial Management
- Risk Management
- Auditing or a related discipline
- Be between the ages of 18 and 35.
- Be willing and able to sign an employment and internship agreement, committing to full participation in all training and work assignments.
