The South African Navy’s Fleet Command Headquarters is seeking a dedicated professional to join their Naval Engineering Services division in the historic town of Simon’s Town. This is a permanent, full-time position offering a competitive salary and the chance to contribute to vital national projects.

Position Details

  • Salary: R391,671 – R418,332 per annum
  • Centre: Fleet Command HQ: Naval Engineering Services, Simon’s Town

Key Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must meet the following criteria:

  • A National Diploma in Engineering or a relevant qualification.
  • A minimum of 3 years of post-qualification technical experience.
  • Current compulsory registration with ECSA as a Professional Engineering Technician.
  • A valid driver’s license.

Essential Skills and Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of maintenance planning, Integrated Logistic Support (ILS) Systems, and Engineering/Support Baselines.
  • Proficiency in the MS Office suite and computer-aided engineering applications.
  • Ability to compile and present technical reports in English.
  • Strong interpersonal, leadership, decision-making, and planning skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
  • Experience in a design environment or logistic support field is highly advantageous.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Participating in the establishment and maintenance of Support Baselines for all current systems in the SA Navy.
  • Identifying existing support infrastructure within the SA Navy.
  • Contributing to research, development, and project management initiatives.
  • Ensuring all work complies with relevant legal and statutory requirements.

  • The Z83 form must be originally signed, dated, and accompanied by a detailed CV.
