Are You the Right Fit? Key Requirements
To be considered for this prestigious role, you must meet the following criteria:
- A National Diploma in Engineering or a relevant qualification.
- A minimum of 3 years of post-qualification technical experience.
- A valid driver’s license.
- Compulsory Registration: Current registration with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) as a Professional Engineering Technician.
Highly Advantageous Skills:
- Experience in at least two other Armament workshops relating to guided weapons maintenance.
- Proven Weapon Systems management experience.
- Strong technical design, analysis, and report writing skills.
- Excellent problem-solving, planning, and decision-making abilities.
- Knowledge of legal compliance and computer-aided technical applications.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English (both written and verbal).
Your Role and Responsibilities
As an Engineering Technician, your duties will be vital to the depot’s operations:
- Provide comprehensive Technical Support group activities.
- Assist various workshops within the division with technical interventions.
- Perform critical System Management Tasks.
- Engage in Research and Development (R&D) projects.
- Oversee the Calibration of all Test and Measuring Tools and Equipment.
- Ensure strict compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety (OHAS) Act.
