Who Should Apply? Essential Requirements
To be considered for this position, you must meet the following criteria:
- A National Diploma in Engineering or a relevant qualification.
- A minimum of 3 years of post-qualification technical experience.
- A valid driver’s license.
- Compulsory Registration: Current registration with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) as a Professional Engineering Technician.
Key Skills and Knowledge:
- Proven experience in a Constructive/Mechanical engineering field.
- Proficiency in compiling and presenting technical reports in English.
- Ability to produce original, creative design work.
- Demonstrated skills in MS Office, CAD/Caddie, and other design software.
- Strong planning, organising, and problem-solving skills in an engineering environment.
- Ability to read, understand, and draft Engineering drawings.
Advantageous: Knowledge of ship structures, Class/IMO rules and regulations, and writing specifications/statements of work.
Your Role and Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for a variety of critical engineering functions, including:
- Executing system and subsystem advice and defects analysis services.
- Developing integrated concepts and detailed designs.
- Overseeing acceptance and trials services for engineering projects.
- Managing project and task management services effectively.
