The Department of Labour is seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to fill a critical role in its Head Office. This senior position is ideal for a human resources specialist with a proven track record in performance management systems and policy development.

Minimum Requirements

To be considered for this prestigious role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Qualifications: A three-year National Diploma (NQF Level 6) or an Undergraduate Bachelor’s Degree (NQF Level 7) in Human Resources Management, Development, Training and Development, Management of Training, Public Management, or Public Administration.
  • Experience: A minimum of five (5) years of functional experience in Performance Management, of which two (2) years must have been at the Assistant Director level or equivalent.
  • Knowledge: A thorough understanding of the Public Service Act, Public Service Regulations, Treasury Regulations, Labour Relations Act, Batho Pele Principles, and Performance Management policies (PMDS) is essential.
  • Skills: The successful candidate will possess excellent strategic management, facilitation, communication, and problem-solving skills. Computer literacy is a must.

Key Performance Areas

The appointed candidate will be responsible for:

  • Managing the administration of the individual performance management committee system.
  • Overseeing and administering the Performance Management and Development System (PMDS) for both SMS and SR1-12 employees.
  • Managing the PMDS SMARTGOV platform.
  • Developing, reviewing, and managing the implementation of PMDS policies and processes to ensure departmental compliance.
  • Coordinating and facilitating support for Committee Services within the branch.
