Key Requirements
To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Possess an appropriate Trade Test Certificate.
- Have at least 5 years of post-qualification experience as an Artisan.
- Hold a valid driver’s license.
Essential Skills & Knowledge:
The ideal candidate will have a proven ability in:
- Making and grading patterns, adjusting machines, and various sewing techniques (unpicking, hemming, shortening).
- Re-sizing garments and undertaking measurements.
- Utilizing various sewing machines and applying badges/braiding.
- Basic machine maintenance, fault finding, and record keeping.
- Effective communication in English (written and verbal).
- Leadership, supervision, and management.
- Knowledge of the OHS Act, clothing textiles, legal compliance, and basic administration.
- Computer-aided technical applications and technical report writing.
Key Responsibilities
The successful applicant will be responsible for:
- Performing alterations on clothing and sewing on rank badges.
- Assembling medals and ribbons.
- Budgeting for stores and equipment.
- Maintaining equipment and ensuring safety and security (OHASA).
