Who We Are Looking For
This internship is ideal for dedicated individuals who meet the following criteria:
- Currently enrolled at a recognized tertiary institution and studying towards a teaching qualification for the Foundation, Intermediate, or Senior Phase.
- Registered with SACE (South African Council for Educators).
- Demonstrate a genuine passion for education and a desire to make a difference.
- Possess a strong moral character, underpinned by integrity, honesty, reliability, and respect for confidentiality.
- Are a team player who is willing to embrace and uphold the ethos and values of Epworth School.
- Have a clear criminal record.
Your Key Responsibilities
As an Epworth intern, you will be immersed in the daily life of a teacher, taking on responsibilities that are critical to both student development and school functions. Your role will include:
- Assist with Class Teaching: Support lead teachers in the classroom, helping to facilitate lessons and enhance student learning.
- Preparation & Set-up: Organize and manage learning materials, resources, and classroom setups for various lessons and activities.
- General Administration: Assist with vital administrative tasks, including recordkeeping, grading, and lesson preparation.
- Professional Development: Attend workshops and training sessions designed to hone your teaching skills and pedagogical knowledge.
- Sports Coaching: Help coach and develop learners’ athletic abilities and sportsmanship.
- Academic Tutoring: Provide dedicated support to individual learners who need extra academic assistance.
