What We’re Looking For: Qualifications & Skills
To be considered for this position, you should meet the following criteria:
- Education: A Grade 12 (Standard 10) certificate with a minimum of 40% in both English and Mathematics.
- Communication: Excellent verbal, written, and listening skills in English.
- Personality: Motivated, confident, and a true team player with great interpersonal skills.
- Work Ethic: Reliable, accountable, and proactive in your duties.
- Availability: Must be prepared to work day/night shifts or be on standby according to the operational roster.
- Background: A clear criminal record is required.
- Transport: Own reliable transport is essential for this location.
Your Key Responsibilities
As a Plant Operator, your duties will be critical to the smooth and safe operation of the plant. You will be responsible for:
- Controlling and monitoring field operations for the plant and tank farm.
- Recording plant conditions and promptly reporting any abnormalities or faulty equipment.
- Analyzing plant and product samples and assisting with chemical and product batch preparations.
- Preparing work clearance permits and monitoring contractors on site.
- Safely inspecting and filling road tankers or ISO-tanks.
- Maintaining positive working relationships with all personnel.
- Stepping in to act as a Panel Operator when the need arises.
- Ensuring excellent housekeeping and strict adherence to all safety protocols.
- Complying with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and Responsible Care standards.
