To be considered for this position, you must meet the following criteria:
- Qualification: A three-year tertiary qualification (NQF Level 6) or equivalent in Finance or Accounting.
- Experience: A minimum of two (2) years of functional experience in Financial Management Services.
- Knowledge: A solid understanding of the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA), Treasury Regulations, financial prescripts, Batho Pele Principles, and departmental policies.
- Skills: You must possess strong skills in:
- Planning and Organizing
- Computer Literacy (MS Office, Financial Systems)
- Communication (verbal and written)
- Problem Solving and Analysis
- Supervision and Presentation
- Accounting
Your Key Responsibilities: The Duties
As the successful candidate, your daily and monthly tasks will include:
- Authorizing all provincial financial transactions on systems like BAS, LOGIS, PERSAL, and Safety-net.
- Verifying information to ensure proper financial document management.
- Monitoring the budget processes for the entire province.
- Maintaining proper control and management of Petty Cash.
- Clearing suspense accounts and unallocated accounts before month-end closure.
