Are you a skilled artisan with proven leadership experience? The South African Navy is seeking a dedicated and competent Artisan Supervisor to join the Facilities Division at the prestigious Naval Base in Simon’s Town. Key Requirements
To be considered for this pivotal role, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- An appropriate Trade Test Certificate.
- A minimum of 5 years of post-qualification experience as an Artisan.
- A valid driver’s license.
- At least 3 years of experience in a supervisory capacity.
- Experience in a Painting Workshop is a distinct advantage.
- Strong project management, communication (written and verbal in English), and analytical skills.
- Ability to read technical drawings, work under pressure, and adhere to strict safety and quality regulations.
- Knowledge of the Public Service Act and legal compliance is essential.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be entrusted with the following responsibilities:
- Overseeing the repair, maintenance, and upgrading of harbors and facilities.
- Managing the workload, staff, and procurement of equipment and materials for the Marine/Diving Workshops.
- Supervising, training, and assessing subordinates.
- Administering and compiling necessary documentation.

Important Notes for Applicants
